GET OUT - STAY OUT 2005 - Is one of the most popular training programmes that we have produced. We produced the original Get Out - Stay Out in 1990 and has been regularly to reflect the current fire legislation in the UK.
In October of 2005 we released the latest version of this programme was released. When we began looking at updating Get Out - Stay Out the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order, was scheduled to be implemented in 2004. However, when this was delayed we decided to continue with the production. For this new version a new updated script was written, including relevant changes from the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order.
GET OUT - STAY OUT 2005 is a dedicated fire evacuation programme which takes a comprehensive look at the procedures that must be followed in the event of fire or a similar emergency.
The subjects covered in this programme include:
Raising the Alarm Calling the Fire Brigade Evacuation Procedures
The programme also includes a comprehensive section covering the different portable fire extinguishers, explaining what types of fire that they are suitable for, how they put the fire out and any potential dangers associated with the extinguisher type.

Tackling Fires Safely
Statistics from F.E.T.A. (Fire Extinguishing Trades Association) reveal that somewhere in the region of 80% of all fires are extinguished, using a portable fire extinguisher, before the fire brigade arrive!
Making sure that your staff are aware of which fires particular extinguishers can or cannot be used, how they are operated and their contents applied to the fire is extremely important. This is also likely to have implications under the new legislation as the Fire Safety Order places emphasis on business continuity and containing and preventing the spread of small fires. The effectiveness of fire extinguishers is clearly recognised as a major provision in doing this.
Tackling Fires Safely is a fire extinguisher training programme which will help you provide your staff with the necessary training in the use of the portable fire fighting equipment installed at your workplace.
The fire-fighting equipment covered in Tackling Fires Safely includes:
Water Extinguishers and Hose Reels CO2 (Carbon Dioxide) Extinguishers Foam Extinguishers Dry Powder Extinguishers Fire Blankets
This comprehensive programme explains the considerations before fighting a fire to ensure the safety of the person attempting to fight the fire as well as everyone else in the workplace. Each of the extinguishers is covered in detail explaining the types of fire on which they may be used, how their contents are applied to the fire and any specific safety considerations associated with the extinguisher type.

The Burning Question
While companies and organisations strive to fulfil their legal commitment and ensure that their staff receive regular fire safety training it is often difficult for trainers to assess just how much information has been retained by staff.
The Burning Question has been produced to change this. Unlike most training where the trainer delivers the training session and then uses a video to reinforce the training message. With The Burning Question the delegates are first given a questionnaire to complete. The questionnaire comprises of 10 questions which are multiple choice and short answers (see link above). Once the all of the delegates have completed the questionnaire the programme is shown which then provides the answers.
The Burning Question covers all aspects of fire safety, including fire evacuation procedures, fire prevention and fire fighting equipment. The Burning Question s a very popular training programme which is used by a wide range of companies and organisations which include fire brigades, fire consultants, hotels, hospitals and a vast number of large and small companies.
The appeal of this programme is that it provides interactive feedback from the delegates - hiding at the back of the room doesn't help! Also it can be used 'off-the-shelf' with the minimum of preparation by the trainer.

A Warm Reception

To most people a hotel is somewhere they go to have a meal, relax or just to get a good nights sleep. The last thing that they will be thinking about is what they would do if a fire broke out. To the seasoned buisness traveller fire alarms go off regularly, rarely because of a fire so they may not pay attention to the fire alarm. So it is particularly important that staff are aware of the evacuation procedures, to ensure that everyone gets out of the building safely.
A Warm Reception has been produced to help you ensure that your staff are fully aware of what they must do, if they discover a fire alarm or if the fire alarm activates - regardless of the time of day. This comprehensive training programme is widely used by many hotel chains as well as independent hotels for both induction and regular fire training sessions.
Some of the subjects that are covered in A Warm Reception include:
Building Design Raising the Alarm Calling the Fire Brigade Fighting the Fire Evacuation Techniques Fire Prevention
Fire can happen at any time hotel fires tend to be more complex than other types of premises because the visitors are unfamiliar with the building, high night time occupancy makes evacuation difficult and guests may not speak English. So, make sure that your staff are well trained - it could be a matter of life or death!

The Role of the Fire Warden
In most premises it is impossible to know who is in the building at any time, or where theymay be. Therefore accounting for people is very difficult. Human life takes precedence over property and during an emergency it is important to establish if the building is empty or where there are people who are trapped so that they may be rescued.
This is often achieved by using a system of fire wardens or marshals who will be responsible for checking that everyone has evacuated from the wardens designated area.
The Role of the Fire Warden has been produced to assist in the training of fire wardens by offering practical advice on the procedures to be followed if a fire breaks out through to the duties of the fire warden and the procedures for 'sweep clearing' their designated area.
The subjects covered in this programme include:
Raising the Alarm General Evacuation Techniques/Fire Alarm Systems Fire Wardens Duties/Sweep Clearing Day to day fire prevention
